Hypnosis for Children
Presented by Capt. M. Ron Eslinger, CRNA
A child under about seven is already somewhere an adult has to be walked to. One professional-development hour on what that means when the client in the chair is six — and why the thing you were trained to induce is, for them, ordinary Tuesday afternoon.

One-off course fee. No subscription, and nothing renews on its own.

Course at a glance
Children are already there
The premise of the hour, in the course’s own words.
How does hypnosis work when you are working with children? If a child is under about seven, they are effectively already in hypnosis — or, put another way, in the alpha/theta brain-wave state. So anything they do, playing make-believe included, is in actuality reality to them.
That is why a child absorbed in music, in a book, in television or in a day-dream is responding with focused attention, imagery and concentration, and why that absorption produces an emotional and physiological response. The work is not getting a child into that state. The work is knowing what you are looking at when they are already in it, and what you can responsibly do from there.
Learning objective
Describe how easily children can be hypnotized.
One objective, one hour, one recorded session. This is a short course and the page does not pad it into a long one.
One session, one exam, one certificate
There are no extra modules, no reading packet and no scheduled sessions. What you buy is the recording, the exam that follows it, and the certificate.
- 1 Hypnosis for children — the recorded session 47min
- 2 Course exam Online
- 3 Certificate of completion 1PD hour
A one-hour course with a 47.3-minute session in it
The hour is taught, not summarized. Almost all of it is a single recorded session running 47.3 minutes, and that recording is the course — not a trailer attached to a slide deck.
Watch it in one sitting or come back to it; the position you stopped at is kept in your account. Nothing needs to be downloaded, and nothing needs to be scheduled.
Practitioners who are about to see a child
Hypnotherapists taking younger clients
If a parent has just booked a six-year-old into your diary, the induction you use with adults is not the tool this session hands you. Start here rather than improvising on the day.
Practitioners building a family practice
Working with children changes how you run an intake, a session and a room. This is an hour on the first of those questions — what the child’s state actually is before you begin.
Anyone who wants one short, finishable hour
Forty-seven minutes and a five-question exam. A whole topic, start to finish, in an evening — and a certificate for your own records at the end of it.
Professional development — not license compliance
This course is sold as professional development. It is not offered for continuing-education credit, and it will not satisfy a license renewal. That belongs at the top of the page rather than at the bottom of a receipt.
It is also not a gap in what we sell — it is the shape of the field. We know of no state that requires continuing education of hypnotherapists. There is no renewal clock to beat here. The only good reason to buy this hour is that you want to be better at the work on Monday than you were on Friday.
If you also hold a nursing license, the hours that count toward it are in a different lane — RN & LPN contact hours, where each course page prints its own continuing-education statement.

The session opens in your account straight away. It is self-paced — stop and resume as often as you need to.
The exam follows the session in the same place: 5 randomized questions, 80% or better to pass, and you can retake it as often as you need.
Your certificate of completion is issued on passing and stays in your account, recording the course and one professional-development hour.
Before you add it to the cart
Will this hour count toward a license renewal?
No. This course is sold as professional development and is not offered for continuing-education credit. We know of no state that requires continuing education of hypnotherapists, so there is no renewal clock this hour could be bought against.
If you also hold a nursing license, the hours that count toward that are in the RN & LPN lane, where each course page prints its own continuing-education statement and that statement applies only to the course it appears on.
What is the exam like?
Five randomized questions, taken online in your account once you have finished the session. You need 80% or better to pass, and you can retake it as often as you need within your access period.
How long does it take, and what do I get at the end?
The recorded session runs 47.3 minutes and the exam follows it, so most people finish inside an hour. There is nothing to schedule and no live session to attend.
On passing you get a certificate of completion recording the course and one professional-development hour. It stays in your account, so you can download it again whenever you need it.
